Ted Shoebat Is An Illogical Dick

Social / Cyber Terrorist Ted Shoebat decided to prove a point – only his argument was horribly flawed. 

The big old whiney homophobe, who has a blog where he frequently rants about the evils of homosexuality, posted a video where he rang up thirteen bakeries in his area, each with a reputation for supporting gay rights, demanding that they make him a cake for a “pro-traditional marriage celebration”.  He requested that the words “gay marriage is wrong” be written on the cake.

When the bakeries refused, he would accuse them of not being for equality.

In his words:

“In conclusion, here is our point.  A Christian making a homosexual cake goes against his faith and a homosexual putting 'gay marriage is wrong' goes against his faith as well.  Now of course we honor their right to say no, but what about honoring the Christian right to say no?”

You see what’s wrong with his logic?

Being gay or being supportive of gay rights is not a “faith”.  He’s comparing apples to horse shit.

When a gay couple asks a bakery to make them a wedding cake they are asking for a service that is typically provided for straight couples by a bakery.  In other words, they are asking to be treated ‘the same’ as anyone else ordering a wedding cake.

What Mr. Shoebat is demanding - that an offensive, politically-charged message be placed on a cake – is something quite different.  He is expressing a point of view, one that may not be shared by the owner of the bakery and asking for a service they normally do not provide – to anyone. 

It would be like me calling up a bakery and asking for a cake with a picture of a naked Ted Shoebat, in the throes of ecstasy, having his fat pimply ass pounded by a big dicked, muscled gay guy.  I’m guessing a lot of bakeries might find that offensive. 

I bet Mr. Shoebat would, too.

So, Ted, your little experiment is as full of shit as you and  all the ridiculous arguments you foaming at the mouth homophobes keep coming up with in order to demonstrate how accepting gay folks as equals is such a hardship.  When you pull little stunts like this, and call attention to exactly how illogical these arguments are, you actually do your cause a great disservice while helping those who are for equality make their point.   For, you see…

…hate is illogical.
