Wonderland Burlesque’s Turdscooter of the Week: Ben Carson

Wonderland Burlesque’s
Turdscooter of the Week:
Ben Carson

When embracing traditional Christian values is equated to hatred, we are approaching the stage where wrong is called right and right is called wrong. It is important for us to once again advocate true tolerance. That means being respectful of those with whom we disagree and allowing people to live according to their values without harassment.
– Ben Carson, responding to being placed on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of anti-LGBT extremists

Last week, up and coming GOP Presidential hopeful wannabe, Ben Carson was added to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of anti-LGBT extremists.  It seems his history of being horribly homophobic and sexist has finally caught up with him.

In the past, he’s suggested that Christian bakeries might put poison in a gay wedding cake, that gay marriage will lead to the downfall of the U.S – mirroring that of ancient Rome, that Obamacare is the worst thing to happen in the U.S. since slavery, that there is a link between gay marriage, bestiality and pedophilia, and that feminists are to blame for police shootings.   He has also compared the current state of the U.S. to Nazi Germany and stands by that comparison.

Yeah.

Say what you want, but the guy has quite an imagination.

However… as upsetting as all that is (and, yes, it truly is), it’s his response to being branded a hateful individual that has caught my attention – for it reveals, all too well, what a horribly illogical hypocrite he is…

No, it’s not the first statement… that actually does make sense (you know, in that twisted modern Christian way) – but the whole thing comes flying apart with what follows.

“It is important for us to once again advocate true tolerance. That means being respectful of those with whom we disagree and allowing people to live according to their values without harassment.”

If the man truly believed what he states in that response, he would not have said any of the disparaging things about other peoples that he has in the past.  If he truly believed in ‘live and let live’ – then he would shut up!

But, that is the hypocrisy of Herman Cain, er… I mean, Ben Carson.  And pointing it out to him isn’t going to get him to change – because there is money, fame, and power waiting in the wings.  And, for ‘Christians’ like Ben Carson, those three things are their true ‘gods’; that unholy trinity represents exactly what Mr. Carson worships and serves.

To that end, this early on in the race, this man is going to continue to say hateful, outrageous things, because history has shown him and others that pandering to such people will eventually get you a shot at your own show on FOX News.  Plus, keep in mind; he has lots of copies of that book that he plagiarized, er, umm… I mean, ‘wrote’ to sell.

So, what’s the harm?

It’s not like he’s adding anything meaningful.

He’s like Donald Trump, but without his own show….

….yet.

So, let’s all throw our remotes at our television screens, as a means of saluting Wonderland Burlesque’s Turdscooter of the Week: Ben Carson.

Ben?  It’s egocentric, entitled, self-righteous, pretentious, over-bearing, conceited, misguided guys like you that give Christianity a bad name.

Well... a worse one, anyway.
