Brought to you by the good people at Star Distributors, LTD., the Finland Books imprint published 200 titles between 1980 -1991. Star Distributors, LTD. operated out of a P.O. Box at the Canal Street Station in New York City.

The cover design features a black and white/brown and yellow erotic illustration (pencil, charcoal, ink) on a yellow background with the title of the book in a bold, lower-cased black graphic font near the top. The art itself was done by a number of artists including Craig Esposito, Adam and Clemént. All the authors are anonymous and the book number would sometimes appear on the spine of the book, but not always.

 

The numbering system begins with FIN-001 and continues thusly.

And, as is the case for many of the Star Distributor's imprints, Finland Books would be republished, not only later in their own history, but as titles for other imprints held by Star Distributor's or Arena, such as Brutes!, New Male, Young Stallions, Man To Man, Macho Books, Jock Studs, Hot Male Readers, Hard Throbs, et. al.

These books are rather plentiful and typically can be acquired for between $15-55.

This week, I found something for only five out of ten. The reason for this? Perhaps because they are the last titles in the imprints history, so not as many copies of them would be available.

So, this is the half. Reason for it? It would seem that one of the sites I frequent when shopping for these books (and searching for covers) has recently had a policy change and no longer show the full cover. That's a pity because, as a buyer, I like to see what I'm getting as far as quality (and I like to nab the covers to share in these posts). The reason for the change in policy? Most likely the company which hosts their on-line store (they have a brick and mortar) demanded it - or - maybe they just got tired of guys snagging the covers to use for things like blogs. In any case... they are not my favorite book store anymore (which they weren't anyway, because Hommi Publishing is awesome). That said, I will still be buying from this site as they have great stuff... like this title for only $19.99!

The good thing about finding this? It demonstrates that there is a difference in cover art between first and second printings of titles published by this imprint. This is actually the second printing of Chained Gang - the first was FIN-37, see below.
