Swedish trio Like Swimming (formerly known as You Say France & I Whistle) released ‘Go Buffalo’ back in August of 2013, but it’s only been spinning in my car since late summer of this year.  At one point, I was quite obsessed with it.

I don’t know what it is; perhaps the psychological whiplash of hearing Ida Hednene’s super pop voice dropping bon mots about stalking and potentially killing her current Romeo? It’s dark stuff, to be sure: all served up in a hard candied shell, as catchy as it is frequently puzzling.

But then, keep in mind, it’s from Sweden; the birth place of so much sugary goodness (ABBA, Roxette, Ace of Base) that one can’t help but be seduced.  Just listen to the swell of that soaring chorus. 

It makes eminent death seem almost palatable
