Of Note:
'Figure It Out'
by
Royal Blood
Who
says rock and roll is dead?
Hailing
from Brighton, U.K., Royal Blood, comprised of Ben Thatcher and Mike Kerr, was
a bright spot for me in 2014. ‘Figure It
Out’ is a precise aural assault, possessing strains of both classic Aerosmith and
Led Zeppelin. It totally won me over.
They’ve
hit the #1 spot on the UK singles charts twice, while their self-titled album
hit #1 in the U.K. and #3 in Australia. Stateside.,
their debut managed to hit #30 on the album charts, with two of their singles
making their presence known on the Rock Singles chart.
In
2015, they, along with Iggy Pop, will be opening act on the Foo Fighters
upcoming tour.

There are tones of very early rock and roll in the way his voice has been recorded and his phrasing... And the bridge brought "Walk This Way" to mind.
