Of Note: 'Progress' by Francisco the Man
Sometimes
my brain goes on pause and I miss the wave.
But never you mind, for, where good music is concerned, time really
doesn’t matter.
Swirling
past with the dust of new wave legends like Modern English and Icicle Works
clinging to their heels, Francisco the Man unleashed ‘Progress’ in July of
2014. Their full-length debut followed
in October, an effort that took the Los Angeles quartet seven, somewhat
tumultuous, years.
It was
worth the wait.
Their
lead single, ‘Progress’ shimmers forth bringing to mind contemporaries such as
Passion Pit and Phoenix. It’s a great
listen and guaranteed to get your inner Molly Ringwald bopping.
