Naples Under the Kiss of Fire

(1937)

AKA: Naples au baiser de feu, The Kiss of Fire

Mario Esposito, who sings in a Neapolitan restaurant, is in love with Assunta, the niece of Teresa, the owner of the place. He shares his apartment with Michel, his best friend, who has fallen under the spell of Lolita, a gorgeous adventuress he met at the cathedral where he officiates as the organist. But things go awry when Michel intercedes with Aunt Teresa for Assunta's hand and Mario falls in love with Lolita. On the very day of his wedding with Assunta, Mario runs away with Lolita, thus betraying both his love and his best friend. But it does not take long before the young singer realizes the mistake he has made.

Based on a novel of the same name by Auguste Bailly, this French romantic musical comedy was directed by Augusto Genina and stars Tino Rossi, Michel Simon, Mireille Balin and Viviane Romance.

Tino Rossi met Mireille Balin, with whom he had a passionate love affair, on the set of this movie.

This film was primarily shot at the Saint-Laurent-du-Var Studios in Nice with some location shooting in Naples. The film's sets were designed by the art director Guy de Gastyne.

Kiss of Fire

(1955)

AKA: El Tigre

In 1700, news that the king of Spain is dying comes to the Spanish outpost in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For some reason, lovely Princess Lucia, the preferred heir, is in this remote location. To get her back to Europe without running afoul of the Viceroy of Mexico (who backs another heir) will require a guide on good terms with the Native Americans: outlaw El Tigre, whom the princess (initially) despises. The highly hazardous journey is made more so by presence of turncoats in the group.

Based on the novel The Rose and the Flame by Jonreed Lauritzen, this American Western adventure film was directed by Joseph M. Newman and stars Jack Palance, Barbara Rush, Martha Hyer, and Rex Reason.

Rhonda Fleming was originally cast as Princess Lucia but she withdrew from the film due to a scheduling conflict, clearing the way for Barbara Rush.

Kiss of the Cobra

(1986)

AKA: Better Kiss A Cobra

Phil Stone, leader and only survivor of  a gang of artifact thieves known as The Scorpions, is desperately in need of money. While scavenging a tomb, he makes the mistake of stripping a priceless ruby ring from the boney finger of a long dead princess, unleashing a true nightmare.

This Italian action adventure film was directed by Massimo Pirri and stars Andy J. Forest, Danilo Mattei, and Millie D'Abbraccio.

Kim and her gang embark on a wild cruise from Cocoa Beach, Florida. The weekend ends in a horror when the boat crashes on a remote island and they are stalked by a psycho. Oh... and snakes!

This American horror film was directed by James Ingrassia and stars Christine Moore, Murray MacDougall, and Jeff Greenman.
