Friday Fun: Happy National Big Wind Day!

Friday Fun:
Happy National Big Wind Day!

Observed each year in the United States on April 12th, National Big Wind Day commemorates the recording of the highest natural wind gust measured on the Earth’s surface. On the afternoon of April 12, 1934, the Mount Washington Observatory recorded winds at 231 miles per hour.

The earth's surface? But what about the sky? Surely the atmosphere should be celebrated as well.

I figure a big wind will keep one aloft, provided you have a parachute, which is exactly the case with today's fine speciMENs. Yes, they put the 'shoot' in parachute!

So, take a gander of the vistas below before you take to the wind and allow your imaginations to sweep you away.

After all, I figure...

A strong gust now and then never hurt anyone!

Throw caution to the wind!
Put the wind back in your sail.
And float on, my dears.
