What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas? - The Emotions

How appropriate that The Emotions are the musical entity to address what it is to be alone during the holidays?

What Do the Lonely Do at Christmas is a song written by Carl Hampton and Homer Banks. It was  recorded by the R&B girl group The Emotions and released in 1973 by Stax Records. Over time, the single has grown in popularity and in 2006 it peaked at #2 on the Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Recurrents chart.

It has also been covered by other artists including: Patti LaBelle and Anthony Hamilton.

The Emotions, who enjoyed a long and successful career, are best remembered for their #1 hit, 1977's Best Of My Love and their 1979 duet with Earth Wind & Fire, Boogie Wonderland.  In 1978  the group won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus.

I don't think I've ever heard of that song Or them. Not a bad song I didn't really remind me of Christmas.
